I don't have super curly hair but I do work on it... For great curl definition on curly days, I recommend Sebastian Potion #9 (it comes in a box with nines all over it, now days it can be found in Walmart and many other retail stores). I suggest it be put on immediately after towel drying, work through the hair well with your fingers, arrange the hair in the direction you want it to be when dry, (MOST important) do NOT touch it while it dries - movement while drying aggravates frizz, once the hair is completely dry use your fingers to run through and loosen the curls, this keeps the curl together and defined, Don't use a pick, it seperates the hair too much. The Sebastian #9 gives great condition and control without being stiff. Iso's Bouncy Creme is a good second choice, or is a prefered if your hair is very fine.

On straight days use Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum (he has a whole Skinny line) or Chi's Silk Infusium (they too have a complete line) on damp hair. Dry your hair. Straighten with a good tourmaline ceramic flat iron (Ebay has a great one made by Extreem or Extreme that is very inexpensive, works as well as the Chi or GBH we use at work). Section your hair with butterfly clips and work from the nape up for the best results. Make your sections you drop for each swipe of the iron about 3/4 of an inch deep or so. Add additional serum or infusium when done, if desired. Try to avoid the humidity or use a humidity resistant hairspray. Hope this helps!

p.s.- If your hair is a coarser and tighter type of frizzy, you might need a chemical relaxer. Leave that, as well as the touch ups, to the pros. If money is tight, a beauty school can be a great option for your chemical services, all are guided by a licensed professional. A great cut makes the world of difference on the finished style too.

I have wild, crazy, wavy - sometimes curly hair that has a mind of it's own. The ONLY thing I've found that works is a good hair cut and lots of calming serum and leave in conditioner. Keep up on getting your hair trimmed, it helps. A little.

my mother is black and my father is maxican so my hair is like an afro when it's wet. i use garnier sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner. and to straighten it i usually use a hot comb but i found this new product called maxiglide. it's a ceramic flat iron and it's the best. i know because i've tried them all. but if i don't feel like straightening it i put herbal essences gel and mousse in it while it's wet and it usually dries in tact no matter how i have it.

That's right- use a good leave in conditioner and make sure you have a nice cut and keep it trimmed. Otherwise, lose the curl at the salon with a striaghtening product for blow drying.

A good haircut is key to controlling frizz. I use Curl Lock, and let dry naturally or if in a rush...blow dry with a diffuser. I usually ask for longer layers, so the curls fall in different places, not in one place like a normal layered cut. Made the mistake of not explaining it well, and got a traditional layered cut, and it was heavy looking and unmanagable. Find a good stylist!!

My hair is natural curly and very fizzy. I use herbal essence honeyed pear smoothing shampoo and conditioner. I straighten with a flat iron. Loreal also make a permanent straightening cream. It is wonderful. Ask your hair lady about it. It lasts for about six months and really help manage waves, but you can still curl if you want it. It's not that Japanese thing that leave your hair like a board.

Visor and pony tail in the rain!!!

Avon has a good straightening line that is supposed to make it were you don't need a flat iron, but I just use both and it works also. The liquid in the little tube is the best.

after i get out of the shower i use sunsilk 24/7 defrizz cream. then i dry my hair and flat iron it. it makes it smooth and sleek. for a curly look i just let it dry naturally and put it in a side pony with a head band. or you can try a hump too. and wen i leave it down and curly i use a curling iron to style it a little more

i got a permanant relaxant in my hair it was dead straight for 3 weeks without me straightning it i have now had it in for 8 weeks and its not frizzy at all but if i dont straighten it i have curly which i love i loved my straight hair but to be able to have both is awesome

I feel your pain! what I do sometimes (not every day) I add some non frizzy jell stuff in my hiar, and let it dry, and then straigten it, that makes it smooth and striaght. When I want it curly, I miz mousse and non frizzy jell, and scrunch it in my hair!
