Wavy Hair wants curly hair.?

What do i do? I used to have gorgeous ringlets. But since my hair has got longer it's gotten wavy and i miss my curls, but i want to grow my hair!!

Are perms allright for hair? (mine is just below shoulderlength)

I have tried mousses and sprays but they make my hair sticky.

I'm stumped.

Wavy Hair wants curly hair.?

Have your hair trimmed and some layers cut into it. When wet put some leave in conditioner and hair gel through it (the cheap stuff from superdrug works better than any) tip your head forward and scrunch your hair then blow dry or diffuse with your head forward until dry(ish). Try not to over dry or it might go frizzy. Give perms a wide berth, they look awful and ruin your hair. Good luck!

Get your hair trimmed, this usually helps take off the heavy split ends. Maybe u need more layers in your hair as well, the top layer might be a bit heavy hence the ringlets fall out. Also try using shampoos/conditioners which are specifically designed for curly hair...

hope that helps!

Perms are fine and they'll solve your problem.

I was told that eating Crusts would give me curly hair but that was in my youth, could be an old wive`s tale! but it worked then!

I would say before you get a perm get some layers cut in to your hair,

If this doesn't work then definitely go for a perm there are all different types of perms Acid or Alkaline some are more damaging than others but you wont have to perm your hair that often that your hair will be dramatically affected,

You say you miss your ringlets, the perm i would recommend a corkscrew perm also known as a spiral perm, this will give you a really tight curl and you'll probably get some ringlet type curls

Good luck

If you dont want it cut:

- DONT even THINK about using a hairdryer

- DONT even THINK about using a COMB or a brush!

- Use mousse that says it is "non sticky" or "doesnt make your hair crispy".

- After using mousse, tip your head upside down, reach the ends of your hair and SCRUNCH your hair upwards to your head.

Be careful - consider other options before you go for that perm! Curly, wavy, long hair is naturally a lot more fragile than straight or short hair.

Remember, waves are beautiful too - you have the best of both worlds :)
