my dilema: i have EXTREMELY frizzy hair. Its curly and dry. My hair isnt really thick, but the friziness makes it look thick, but its definitely not thick (actually pretty thin). i dont know why its like that, because i dont put anything artificial in it. i have straightend it only five times in my life and i've never done anything to it chemically. I'm thinking of cutting it really short, like to the middle or bottom of my neck. is it a good idea? i will probably straighten it everyday if its that short. what other style or products can i use?

p.s. i actually like my curls...its just, you cant see them in all the frizz, is there a really good frizz controller out there or anything else i can use to define my curls?

You need to apply a serum designed for dry hair, which will make the curls group together to form nice curls rather than frizzy air all over the place. You can also flat iron it straight after applying the serum.

You know what I would do? (Of course I can't do it because I have straight brown hair) I would cut it short. Really short, I mean. It might look cute. Depends on your face shape. Long hair looks soooo much better on me. SHort hair on my round face would look (ACK!!!). Lol

Use a frizz control shampoo/ conditioner. I suggest Bed Head- it's a four process thing and it does miracles. End with Dove Sleek and Smooth and blow dry with a brush. This will totally eliminate your frizz. Then you can cut your hair however you like.

cutting it short is a very good idea in your case. it will emphasize the curls and minimize the frizz. This way it won't have has much weight pulling down on your hair. I know this from experience. (trust me!!!) However, if you did have thicker hair i would have recomended growing it out then having it cut to a certain stylebut thats not your problem!!

If you cut it short its going to puff up more but I mean u say ur willing to str8ten it every day but are you really? and on humid days? It will b str8 for 10 minutes then puff up. Best thing u can do is use Sunsilk they have a hair cream (for after u wash ur hair) that u can rub on towel dry hair and its specifically for frizzy curly hair. Then u can put on a little moose.... then brush your hair and you can either put it up with curlers which will last u a whole week if u r careful and it will help the curl stay without the frizz or you can blow dry it with a round brush to minimize frizziness and if you decide to have it str8 for the day use a str8tening iron after you blow dry it. Pick up your hair with a hair clip and only leave a half inch section at the bottom of your hair and use a comb in front of the hair iron do little sections of that section at a time when ur done just release another half inch section of hair and do the same thing... little by little is the key to str8 non frizzy hair... if ur in a hurry and u have dry hair heat up a small or medium circumferance hot iron and only curl the top half of your head (meaning sections on the top half not take the hair and only curl the top of it) that way as long as u do it by little sections you can keep the visible under control. If its too much and its too early and ur too tired take a shower wash ur hair put on the sunsilk hair cream after ur hair is towel dryed GOOD you can put moose on your hair and crunch (get some hair in ur hand and just bunch it up onto ur head) the hair a palm full at a time if u want use 3 hair clips and divide ur hair into 3 sections and just clip up ur hair in bunches in the end you can blow dry it or air dry it and when u let it go it will be pretty curly and not frizzy. i have hair Just like yours and trust me, Do Not Cut It!! i did that before and it ended up extremely frizzy and poofy. Plus, straightning would just damage it more and takes long. What i do know is i use infusium products and the new herbal essence gel for curls. I shampoo only twice a week and i condition 4 times a week. Leave the conditioner on for atleast ten minutes before you rinse and put most of it on your ends....this will keep it hydrated. Then, use infusiums leave-in conditioner and then scrunch with the gel......this defines your curls And leaves them frizz free. With curly hair, messy buns look super cute and i like putting my hair in really high pony tails. another idea when you dont feel like dealing with curly hair just do your hair in two french braids, apply tons of hairspray and youre set (:

I've ready all the answers, some of them have merit. However, I have long hair to waist and got a long freedom, grew out so went back %26amp; told my beautian not to put a student on my hair.... he did %26amp; end result.... welll I didn't want to show my head in public. So I remembered a girl friend that had a simular hair in school. This is old timey " We would wash %26amp; condition the hell out it. Dry it over her head leaving it damp, put a styling gel on and cut holes in oj. cans put hair up on the crown of head with a hair tie %26amp; divide into two to four parts. Take these parts and brush or comb out til flat , roll on the cans(plastic rolls now) and finish drying. Wait until hair is cool before taking down. It should leave you with a smooth finish.

NOTE**** Garnier Fructis is good shampoo........alot are.

I don't know the length of your hair, you need it past your shoulders to do this. But I wouldn't cut it now. Don't throw in the towel yet.

ok you should have pretty smooth hair. Now try some heat rollers with moister, use the big ones. You should come out

with some curl and alot of body.

P.S. I have found that if I use a hair color close to mine, that it tends to help nurish my hair also... I'm not telling you to dye your hair weird, but that it helps in some situations to just put your closest natural color on.
